I'm betting the Berkeley P.D. will be polishing up their nightsticks tonight. They've been waiting for this for a long time...
I just flew back from my two-day house-hunting adventure New Jersey*. Results were . . . mixed. I may need to purchase one of these to psyche myself up.
* and boy are my arms tired.
Oh, BLOG, I've been so neglectful. I'm sorry, but I've been busy! There were doin's a'transpirin'.
I'm married now, and thus a million years older. And I filed my thesis and got my Ph.D., so my AIM screen name is no longer wrapped in deceit. Furthermore, I have a job. I suppose I should come to grips with the fact that my future co-workers may have already found this blog and are mocking me accordingly. But I am, at this very moment, sitting in a hotel room in New Jersey looking for a place to live. So upon my return to the Northeast everyone can look forward to Jeff becoming a full-bore Jersey Apologist. "It's not as bad as you think" will be my new battle cry. I mention these items because one of my proposed summer projects was to update the blog, and this, here, is my first step towards that end. I also bought a bike! But that was for my other summer project.
And on the subject of apartment hunting, let me take a moment to plug walkscore.com. It's far from perfect, but it is a useful tool for the out-of-towner. Central New Jersey, thou art a different place:

Eat your heart out, Boston.
