Immunity Idol

This trip to the Philippines next month is actually coming together. Despite some hearty mocking from Marie and her family, paranoia finally got the better of me, so I scheduled a trip to the campus travel clinic. With their help, I've metamorphasized into a tropical Superman. I now have the power to fend off tetanus, hepatitis A, B and C, typhoid, malaria, MMR, and a broad range of gastrointestinal-distress-causing bacteria. I declined the shot for Japanese encphalitis, so that'll be a chink in the armor. But nevertheless, I'm feeling pretty solid.

I figure I should get the most out of these immunizations while they last, so if anyone wants to go hiking through Amazonia in the next five years, please let me know.

Why the decline? Are you not afraid of Japanese mosquitoes?
