Sometimes I hate this city

Can you believe this?

"In a city famous for its love of specialty gourmet food, irate neighbors are fighting a new Trader Joe's slated for University Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Way, . . . Residents are concerned about traffic, parking, the building blending in with the neighborhood, and the large volume of low-cost alcohol for sale just a few blocks from the UC campus, Berkeley High School and a number of homeless service agencies."

So... is your argument that the vacant Petco parking lot "blends into the neighborhood" better than a functioning grocery store?

This is comical ... they make it sound like parking, traffic, and large amounts of alcohol being available are not currently a problem. Oh ... and blending in ... what is that? Does Berkeley have a theme I am unaware of, because it sure as hell seems like a cluster-fuck to me. Heaven for bid a "chain" like Trader Joe's comes in. Damn ... we might eat healthier ... and it might be well lit ... and people might actually want to spend money in Berkeley to help the struggling economy. I say fuck Berkeley and move the think to Rockridge. Albertson's went out of buiness and has a nice place next to Zach's pizza awaiting ...
