I enjoyed a quote from this article in the NYT a couple days ago from Dr. Benjamin Lewin, former editor of Cell.
"It sounds as though their processes were rather sloppy, . . . Nature and Science don't have the reputation for rigorous review."
Harsh words from the number three journal in biology.

He is just jealous that it was not his old journal that got to screw it up and get all the publicity. I can't see how a reviewer can stop someone who is smart and lying. A reviewer would have to physically visit labs. I am lucky if Clay even reads the articles I write the reviews for ... or reads my review for that matter ...
